Over time the bright metal plating on the surface of the Hornby track rails will oxidise and collect a layer of oils and dust resulting in a rough and high resistance surface. The high resistance will reduce the performance of any Hornby Train while the rough surface will cause increased ware to the wheel running surfaces.

There's nothing more frustrating than to have your favourite locomotive stall at the far end of the layout due to dirty track.

This polishing pad is mildly abrasive and is ideal for cleaning tarnished and dirty Hornby track. This pad will even remove light corrosion from the track rails. The non-woven pad is re-useable and washable and is approximately 50mm x 100mm. Manufactured from a plastic fibre coated in a lightly abrasive material there is no risk of producing a short circuit in the track in the way that would be produced by wire wool.
